Live in Christ

Gospel
Matthew 16:24-28

Reading

“Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me." - Matthew 16:24

Revelation

Life is not about you, it is always about Jesus Christ who is the life in you. What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? Or what can one give in exchange for his life? God repays according to his conduct. Always surrender yourself to the Lord and you will surely live a life that is full and complete, lacking in nothing.

Reflection

Jesus reminds you that gaining everything externally means nothing if your inner life is lost, empty, or disconnected from Him. Life becomes clear the moment you recognize that it is not centered on you, but on Him alone who is the life within you.

When you try to carry everything on your own—your ambitions, your worries, your pursuits—you eventually feel the weight of a world you were never meant to hold. The world offers success, recognition, possessions, and comfort, but none of these can purchase true life. Nothing can be exchanged for the life of the soul. Only Jesus can fill the deepest places within you, the places no achievement or possession can reach.

God sees your conduct, your choices, your surrender. He repays not according to worldly standards, but according to the truth of your heart. When you surrender yourself—your plans, your desires, your struggles—to the Lord, you step into a life that is full, complete, and lacking nothing. Surrender is not loss; it is the doorway to abundance.

Today, Jesus invites you to let go of self-centered striving and embrace Christ-centered living. In Him, you find meaning. In Him, you find direction. In Him, you find life.

Response

Lord Jesus Christ,

You are the life within me, the One who gives meaning to everything I do. Teach me to live not for myself, but for You alone. Help me to see that nothing in this world is worth more than the life You give. Guard my heart from chasing what cannot satisfy, and draw me closer to the fullness that comes only from Your presence.

I surrender my plans, my desires, my worries, and my whole being to You. Repay me not according to my weaknesses, but according to Your mercy. Lead me into a life that is complete, abundant, and anchored in Your love. Let every step I take be guided by Your Spirit, and let my life reflect Your glory.
Jesus, be my purpose, my strength, and my joy. I choose You above all else.

Amen.
