Focus on Here and Now

Gospel
Mark 12:18-27

Reading

"He is not God of the dead but of the living. You are greatly misled.” (Mark 12:27)

Revelation

You are alive and well to respond to God’s grace and calling. The Lord comes not to bring death but life. He stretches out His hands to give life each day and heals you from all your flaws, sickness and disease. Rise and be restored to the fullnes of health with sound mind and body.

Reflection

We should focus our attention on God, not on our circumstances or ourselves. Focusing our attention on God helps us gain a divine perspective and enables us to navigate through life’s challenges with faith and courage. It reminds us that God is greater than any circumstance we might face, and that our strength comes from Him.

This doesn’t mean we ignore our circumstances or ourselves, but rather we view them through the lens of faith, trusting in God’s wisdom, power, and love. We are not self-sufficient; we need God’s help in every aspect of our lives. Let us wait patiently for God’s mercy, acknowledging our need for His grace, and approach Him with humility.

Response

Father in heaven,

Give us this day our daily bread. Each day I live, I live under a borrowed time from You. Thank You so much for again giving me a new life and a new day's beginning, making me alive and well to respond to Your grace and calling. Today, You want me to focus on what is here and now and not to worry about tomorrow. As always, I humbly submit to You all my cares knowing and believing in faith that You are in complete control of the life You have given me through Jesus Christ Your Son, my Lord and Savior. All glory, honor, and praise are Yours now and forever!

Amen.
