Listen and Act

Gospel
Matthew 7:21-29

Reading

“Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. (Matthew 7:24-25)

Revelation

Be a Man of Action. True wisdom lies not merely in hearing, but in the doing. No mount of human strength and shield can withstand the acts of God when it strucks. Being helpless, all we can do is to pray for God's mercy, healing, and direct intervention. This is a time of work, a time to put words into action. It is imperative that you obey and do each and every word that the Lord tells you. His word serves as your strong and solid foundation to face the challenges of life.

Reflection

Faith is not passive. God does not shape us through hearing alone but through obedience that becomes movement, choices, and concrete steps. Wisdom becomes real only when it is lived.

There are moments when human strength collapses, when no shield, no strategy, no cleverness can withstand the force of what God allows or ordains. In those moments, we discover the truth: our greatest power is surrender, and our greatest weapon is obedience.

To be a man of action in God’s eyes is not to rush, strive, or force outcomes. It is to respond to His word with trust. It is to let His voice become your foundation—solid, immovable, unshakeable—so that when life’s storms rise, you stand not by your own might but by His command.

This is a season of doing, not delaying. A season of stepping forward, not merely listening. A season where God invites you to align your actions with His instructions, because His word is the only ground that will never fail beneath your feet.

Response

Lord Jesus,

You who call me not only to listen but to obey, shape my heart today into one that responds with courage and humility. Teach me to be a man of action—one who does Your will with steadfast faith, even when I feel weak or uncertain.

When my strength is not enough, be my strength. When my wisdom falls short, be my wisdom. When I face battles I cannot fight, stretch out Your mighty hand and intervene with power that no human force can resist. Make Your word my foundation—firm, solid, unshakable. Let every step I take today be anchored in what You have spoken. Remove hesitation, remove fear, remove doubt, and replace them with obedience that honors You.

Lord, have mercy on me. Heal what is broken, direct what is confused, and strengthen what is weary. Let my life reflect not only what I believe, but what I do in Your name. I surrender this day to You. Command me, guide me, and empower me to act according to Your will. For Your glory, for Your purpose, and for the fulfillment of every word You have spoken over my life in You.

Amen.
