Even before it happened, the Lord already prophesied that He shall go to the heart of the earth for three days to finally defeat evil. It is a painful and sorrowful journey that He must take, penetrating the very core and origin of sin. He must fight the battle from the inside where the enemy is encamped. There will be times in our lives when we have to make bold decisions of taking risks to penetrate the unknown in order to achieve our goals. It may be hard at first but its rewards are far greater than what we can ever imagine.
Reflection
Evil would not be defeated from the outside. It had to be confronted from within. The battle for salvation required entering the deepest darkness. And Jesus chose that path willingly.
This becomes a powerful lens for our own lives in Christ. There are seasons when God calls us to step into places that feel risky, unfamiliar, or painful — not because He desires our suffering, but because transformation often requires entering the unknown.
Jesus reminds us that He Himself is the Sign — greater than Jonah, greater than Solomon, greater than every fear that tries to hold us back . His descent into the depths teaches us that the greatest victories often rise from the hardest journeys.
When we dare to enter the unknown with Him, we discover that courage grows where fear once lived, wisdom emerges where confusion once ruled, and resurrection awaits where darkness once seemed final. The path may be painful at first, but its rewards are far greater than we can imagine.

Lord Jesus Christ,
You descended into the heart of the earth, entering the depths where sin had taken root, so that You might conquer evil from within and rise in glory. You embraced the sorrowful path so salvation could reach even the darkest corners of the human heart.
Teach me to follow Your courage. When You call me to step into the unknown, give me the strength to trust Your leading. When the journey feels heavy, remind me that Your greatest victory was born from suffering transformed by love. When fear whispers, let Your truth speak louder.
Pierce my distractions, stir my longing, and strengthen my resolve. Lead me into the life You have prepared — a life where courage is rewarded, faith is deepened, and Your glory is revealed.
