Matthew 10:37-42
Reading
“Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." (Matthew 10:37)
Revelation
Love is all that matters, a life devoid of love is not worth living. You were once a prisoner of illusion but after the love of Christ came into your life, it has transformed you and totally set you free from all your pretenses and insecurities. Truly, when one loves truly and fully and is loved in return, one experiences a life-changing event. To love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength above anyone and anything else in the world is the greatest commandment of all.
Reflection
Love is the very breath of the soul. Without it, life becomes hollow—full of motion but empty of meaning. Love is the only force strong enough to break illusions, heal insecurities, and transform a life from within.
There was a time when you lived behind layers of fear, self protection, and quiet uncertainty. You carried burdens that made you hide parts of yourself, unsure if you were enough or worthy. But when the love of Christ entered your life, everything changed. His love did not expose you to shame—it exposed you to truth. It freed you from pretending, from striving, from the prison of trying to be someone you were not.
Christ’s love is not merely comforting; it is liberating. It reveals who you truly are: a beloved child of God, created for fullness, not fear. And when you began to love Him in return—with your heart, soul, and strength—you discovered a life that is richer, deeper, and more authentic than anything the world could offer.
To love God above all is not a restriction—it is the greatest freedom. It aligns your desires, purifies your motives, and anchors your identity. It teaches you how to love others rightly, generously, and without losing yourself.
Today, let this truth settle gently in your heart: Love is all that matters, because God is love—and when you love Him first, everything else finds its rightful place.
Response
Lord Jesus,
Your love has changed my life in You in ways I could never have imagined. You entered the deepest places of my heart—places once filled with fear, illusion, and insecurity— and You brought truth, healing, and freedom.
Thank You for loving me fully, faithfully, and without condition. Thank You for setting me free from the need to pretend, and for teaching me that my worth comes from You alone.
Today, I choose to love You with all my heart, with all my soul, and with all my strength. Let this love be the foundation of Your life in me, the compass of my decisions, and the source of my joy.
Remove anything that keeps me from loving You above all else. Fill my heart with Your peace, my mind with Your truth, and my life with Your presence. Teach me to love others with the same sincerity and generosity that You have shown me. Let Your love flow through me— healing, uplifting, and bringing hope wherever You send me.
I entrust this day to You, Lord Jesus. May Your love be my strength, my freedom, and my song.
Amen.
