Is there Enough?

He asked them,
"How many loaves do you have? Go and see."
And when they had found out they said,
"Five loaves and two fish."
(Mark 6:38)

The Lord is more than enough for us to have the fullness and abundance of life that we seek. There is no such thing as "Few" when it comes to the blessings and provisions of the Lord. These are always rich, abundant, and overflowing. He can overturn whatever little or meager resources we have into a hundred or thousand folds that can bless and satisfy many.

The Greek word for “compassion” (σπλαγχνίζομαι) means a deep, gut-level stirring. Jesus’ compassion is not sentimental; it moves Him to act: He teaches them, He feeds them, He involves His disciples in the miracle.

God’s compassion recognizes our need for guidance and sustenance. He reveals to us the importance of empathy and caring for others. Despite our doubts, fears, and shortcomings, the Lord provides us with much more than what we need. At a time when we least expect, miracles happen. Before any miracle happens. Jesus sees our exhaustion, our hunger, our longing for direction. We are not invisible to Him. We just need to trust the Lord at all times.

God can provide abundantly, even when resources seem scarce. We should always have faith in God's plans, even when they seem impossible. We may think that what we have maybe too small, but Jesus never asks for what we don’t have—only what we do. Our time, our energy, our creativity, our faith—however small—becomes abundant in His hands. Let us be grateful for what we have, no matter how little it may seem and be generous to share them with others.

Lord Jesus, with humble hearts, we come before You, Remembering the miracle of the loaves and fish. You blessed the simple offering, And it became a feast for many. We ask for Your blessing upon our lives, that we may share Your love and grace, multiplying the good we do, to nourish the hearts and souls of those around us. Take what little we have—our time, our strength, our gifts—and bless it, break it, and give it so that others may be fed. Teach us to trust Your abundance more than our limitations. May we always trust in Your providence, knowing that in Your hands, even the smallest gift can become a great blessing. Thank You, Lord, for Your endless love and care. Amen.
