Is God's Word Working in Me?

“Everyone who listens to these words of mine
and acts on them will be like
a wise man who built his house on rock."
(Matthew 7:24)

Hearing must always be accompanied by doing. True wisdom lies not merely in hearing, but in action. Indeed, my life finds stability when I heed to the words of the Lord and put them into practice. Small acts of obedience—mercy, forgiveness, humility—are stones laid on the rock foundation. If what I say and do is always grounded on God's word, it shall surely come to pass and nothing or no one can hinder it from happening.

Life’s storms (trials, doubts, temptations) will come. We should build our lives on Christ as the solid foundation, lest shifting sands of superficial faith collapse under life’s storms.

Building our lives on Jesus' teachings is like building a house on a solid rock that can stand firm against storms. It shows that we understand the value and importance of His teachings and are committed to following them. This strong foundation of faith helps us withstand life's challenges and storms and endure trials and difficulties with resilience and strength.

Like a house built on solid rock, our lives find stability when we heed these teachings and put them into practice. Let us be architects of our destinies, constructing our foundations with purpose, integrity, and love. For it is in the doing that we find strength, resilience, and the unwavering ground beneath our feet. May our actions be the bedrock upon which our lives stand tall, weathering storms and embracing the sun’s warmth.

Lord Jesus, we come before You with open hearts, grateful for Your teachings and guidance. Help us to not only hear Your words, but to put them into practice in our daily lives. Grant us the wisdom to build our lives on the solid rock of Your truth, so that we may stand firm against the storms of life. Strengthen our faith and resolve, to live according to Your will and example. May we be like the wise man who built his house on the rock, grounded in Your love and teachings. Guide us in our journey and help us to be faithful and obedient to Your word. Amen.
